March of Dimes

Friday, Nov 20, 2015

CSP's Early Intervenion joins the March of Dimes in recognizing Prematurity Awareness Month. Through its work in communities, the March of Dimes aims to improve the health of mothers and babies through: education on healthy pregnancy; prenatal care and other services to reduce the risk of premature birth and other poor birth outcomes; and support for families whose babies need specialized care in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit).

Babies who are considered "micropreemies" (less than 27 weeks gestation or less than 1000g birth weight) are automatically eligible for services through Early Intervention. 5-month-old Madalynn, pictured here, was born at 23 weeks gestation and is NICU graduate. We are excited to see her home!
