CSP employs several programs to assist families with high energy bills. Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Alabama Business Charitable (ABC) Trust Fund, Emergency Food & Shelter (EFSP), and Project SHARE assist specifically with utility bill payments. For income eligible clients, payments are made by CSP directly to the utility company on the client's behalf.

The following is the maximum amount of income a family may receive and be eligible for energy assistance under LIHEAP Program.

Maximum Monthly Gross Income Eligibility Levels FY 2013

Community Service Programs of West Alabama (CSP), Inc. implemented an automated scheduling system to better accommodate the increased demand for energy assistance. Providing funding is available, the automated system schedules utility assistance appointments for Bibb, Choctaw, Fayette, Greene, Lamar, Sumter and Tuscaloosa counties 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To schedule an appointment for utility assistance, please contact (205) 758-4756 or toll free at 1-877-803-5509.

Food Vouchers help families stretch their food dollars. CSP has partnered with several local agencies and churches to provide families with their food needs.
